Progress Update 25/03/07

They've done a bit more plastering this week, it's almost starting to look like a proper house in areas! We've also ordered all the floor and wall tiles this week so can't wait to see what they look like when they're laid.

Beer in Milan

On Friday we drove up to Alessandria then caught the train to Milan. We went to a beer expo at Fiera Milano (the exhibition centre) as Andy continues to investigate his beer brewing plans. The expo was a little diappointing as there weren't really any trade stands, just a selection of micro breweries from the area. The trip wasn't wasted as all the micro breweries were selling samples of their beer for only €1 so Andy was able to sample a wide range of beers! We stayed in Milan on Friday night then did a bit of sightseeing on Saturday before catching the train back.

What's going on with the weather?!

Andy's mum has been staying with us for the last week and we have had some fantastic weather. On Friday and Saturday last week we were out and about sightseeing in T-shirts and relaxing in the sunshine outside cafes at lunchtime as the temperature reached at least 20 degrees. But yesterday morning we awoke to a covering of snow and sub zero temperatures! It is the first snow we have seen this winter and was great to see if not a little unexpected. We went up to the castle at Prunetto where it was clear none of the Italians had been mad enough to venture as the blanket of snow was untouched. Fortunately the snow disappeared as quickly as it arrived as we had to take Andy's mum back to the airport in Torino this morning.

Progress Update 21/03/07

The end of March is approaching and as expected work will not be complete by the end of the month. The render is slowly being removed and the internal walls are now being plastered but it still looks like there is a lot of work to do. The windows and doors are still on target to be installed at the beginning of May and we hope all other work will also be finished by then.
